Doing some late night price checks as its almost time for me to buy another car... and I jump on JapaneseClassics website and see a dream. a 1990 Eunos Cosmo 20b in the most amazing color. Priced right too. And all my money is tied up various things right now.
Dammit I need to sell this Ferrari fast.

I don’t like rotaries, but I would do nasty things for a Eunos Cosmo.

Damn. That’s hot.

Whoa, look how high that steering wheel tilts up out of the way. You can be super duper fat and still get out of there with no trouble at all.

Hnnng! Holy crap, that thing is hot!!!

The struggle is real, my friend.
I’ve been looking at that “4Runner” they have. My buddy is waiting on a Mitsu Delica to come rolling through there again and pretty sure he has the funds set aside to pull the trigger. I need to follow his lead.

I’m not too far from Japanese classics. I always want to stop by and check them out.
I was talking to some hardcore JDM enthusiasts at a late night meet a few weeks ago.. And they had some bad stories about buying from them. I dunno how valid the stories were, but those guys just did not like Japanese classics anymore.

Wow! That’s an elegant car!

That color is indeed teh sexxorz.

That is a great color. I only saw 2 of these while I was in Japan 2011-2012.
Also you have a 360 or a 430?
Lately the urge to find a 430 has grown like a malignant tumor.

Out of all the interesting, exciting ways you can use a car to ruin your life, this is one you’ll have to explain a lot more than usual.

Damn, that is absolutely beautiful! My only thought is that it’d look even better on wheels that were an inch smaller to give the tires a bit more sidewall for a more period correct look, but that’s being nitpicky and I honestly would have no problems taking it as is. My big weakness lately is looking at/for a Honda City Turbo II, preferably with a motocompo for the hatch area.

That looks lovely. So...3 Rotors...two turbos...how much power did these make from the factory?
![]() 12/09/2015 at 10:28 |
|
Agreed. Plus lighter wheels mean less rotational mass.
![]() 12/09/2015 at 10:30 |

That’s a plus too, plus a thicker sdewall usually makes for a more comfortable ride, though you do lose some imediacy on turn in.

Rated at 276hp but it is said that they actually make a lot closer to 330hp

Interesting, I’ve been googling it and imagining an alternate universe where Mazda launched its own luxury brand in the 90’s to battle Lexus, Infinity, and Acura with this car as it’s top model...
![]() 12/09/2015 at 11:00 |
|
Well this is the most technologically advanced car Mazda has ever made even by today’s standards. If you have one of these in the early 90’s you were someone very important and/or very wealthy.

My del Sol is running on 60 series tires. Low and COMFY.

Please, like I need an explanation for any of my bad decisions...
I bought a Fiat roadster in March, drove it home, and immediately tore it into pieces then 5 weeks later decided to buy a Ferrari... because 2 Italian cars with a penchant for breaking and being expensive to fix is an excellent idea.

You should stop by and tell me all about it so I can be jealous and make bad decisions with money.
Also anything I import I would go through Oppo users Bird & Corrine who recently opened Roadtrip motorcars. I already spoke with them about finding me one of these down the line, but my god, that blue is amazing.

If everyone could just spare me $20 we might be onto something...

My Miata is on 185/60 R14 tires atm, it rides pretty well as well. I’m not super low though. I am interested to see how it handles an autocross course next month, should be interesting.

360. After owning a Ferrari for 7 months and putting nearly 2500 miles on it (nearly double what it was driven annually since new) I have to say, I would rather own a Porsche. The Ferrari is an amazing car, and if money was no object I would “collect” Ferrari’s, but I’ve now owned one and driven 3 total (360, 430, 430Scud); if you are looking for a fun sports car this is not it. EVERYTHING decreases the value, they throw expensive CEL’s like Ronda Rousey throws punches, you can’t bring them anywhere without being accosted, having to worry about where you left it, etc. While I always said if I ever owned a Ferrari I would drive the heck out of it, it’s very difficult to do if you don’t plan on keeping it forever and not worrying about it’s value.

Yup. Running on 14s as well.

.....but...but....dark navy blue 430 manual.......but....but naturally-aspirated Italian V8....but...but...damn guess I better just go by a 79 carrera....

Oh I’ll have to check out roadtrip motorcars. Gotta support fellow oppo members! I’ve been toying with importing a car, but I just have no idea what I want haha.
And yes, that blue is amazing!

I go back and forth too. The problem is I want too many cars. R32, R33 (in a few years), Eunos Cosmo, Lancia Montecarlo, HF Stradale EVO II (in a few years), Soarer, Silvia (in many years), FTO (also in many years), Fiat 500 (the original), the list goes on.
![]() 12/10/2015 at 21:59 |

Lol. They are a ton of fun I wont deny but the Ferrari has to be like a 4th or 5th toy, not 1st or 2nd, or even really 3rd.

McLaren before Ferrari in my opinion. And also, plane or helicopter before Ferrari.
